Dear Lammas Families,
As we start to plan for the next academic year, 2024 -2025, Lammas school has taken the difficult decision to consult on closing its VIth Form provision. Currently, student numbers in the VIth Form remain low and the Lammas School leadership must now consider whether it has the capacity to continue to run a small sixth form that is not financially viable.
Until the consultation is completed, Lammas School will suspend the admission of students to the VIth form for the next academic year, September 2024 ā August 2025. After the consultation has been completed the school and Griffin Schools Trust will fully consider all the responses before making any decision on closing the VIth Form.
Should the VIth Form be closed, then currently enrolled VIth Form students will complete their courses at Lammas; this includes the students, who started their studies in September 2023, who will continue at Lammas until they complete their courses in summer 2025. Year 11 students will continue to be supported to find appropriate Post 16 progression courses for next academic year.
We are holding a consultation event on Wednesday 22 November 2023 between 5pm and 6pm for the community to be able to speak to senior school staff and to ask any questions they may have.
Details of the consultation process can be found attached, including timescales and how families and the community can make comments on the proposal. Any person may object to or make comments on the proposals by sending representations via email to: office@griffinschoolstrust.org. Once the consultation has been completed we will update the Lammas community with the outcome.
