The Economics Departments of UCL, LSE and Imperial College jointly hosted a workshop for Year 10 London students. The event was held at the LSE campus.
The focus was on introducing economics as a discipline, rather than specific degree programmes. The collaboration between the three institutions allowed our Year 10 students to engage with a rich group of academics, university students and practitioners, hopefully inspiring them to consider a future path of study in economics.
The theme this year was âEconomics for a Fair Societyâ. The aim was to expose Year 10 students to what economists really do, and showcase the interactions between economics, business, policy making and data science.
The workshop also aimed to help pupils make more informed A-level choices, as they might relate to future study and careers in economics.
