Challenge 26

Now in its eight year, the Griffin Schools Trustā€™sĀ Challenge 26Ā is an exciting and inclusive fundraising initiative inspired by the highly charitable London Marathon.

This event harnesses the spirit of the marathonā€™s 26.2 miles by encouraging member schools to engage in various sporting challenges centred around the number 26.

The aim is to raise funds for a designated good cause, fostering community spirit and promoting physical activity among students.

This year, weā€™re proud to announce Cancer Research UK as our chosen charity.

Nearly 1 in 2 people (born in the UK in 1961) will be diagnosed with some form of cancer during their lifetime. With statistics like that it is not surprising that we probably all know one or more people who have been affected by cancer.

With a steadfast commitment to ground-breaking research and unwavering support for those affected by cancer, Cancer Research UK stands at the forefront of the battle against this disease, driving progress toward a world without cancer.

As part of Challenge 26 at The Lammas School students in Year 7 and 8 completed a 2600 yard sponsored run on Friday 17th May, raising over Ā£500.

As we reflect on another energetic and exciting Challenge 26 across our GST family, thanks go to all the staff and volunteers who have made it possible. Our pupils, staff and families have really entered into the spirit of Challenge 26 and have relished the opportunities to take part and be active. Congratulations to everyone who has played their part, as individuals, in teams and Trustwide.
