Celebrating Creativity at the Griffin Literacy Festival

This term, Lammas students proudly took part in the Griffin Literacy Festival, an event that celebrates imagination, storytelling, and the power of words across our family of schools. The festival provided an incredible opportunity for our students to engage in inspiring workshops alongside acclaimed authors, including Katoniel Pear and Shaznay Martin, who shared their expertise and passion for writing.

As part of the festival, our talented students also competed in the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge, delivering powerful and thought-provoking speeches on topics that matter such as homelessness and mental health. Their courage and eloquence in addressing these important issues were truly commendable, showcasing the confidence and empathy that lie at the heart of our school values.

Our Literacy Champions played a vital role in extending the festival’s impact by supporting younger Griffins at Riverley and Willow Brook. Together, they collaborated to create joint stories, weaving ideas and creativity across schools to produce narratives that will be shared with the wider community. This spirit of collaboration and mentorship is something we are incredibly proud of.

The Griffin Literacy Festival has now become a cherished proud tradition, eagerly anticipated by students across all our schools. It is more than an event, it is a celebration of voice, creativity, and connection, empowering every child to express themselves and inspire others.
