On Friday 11th of July our Year 10 boys and girls enjoyed a fascinating visit to ARC Group UK , a leading company in construction and ground redevelopment. ARC Group are currently transforming a set of old, abandoned playing fields near Chingford and the A406 into three brand new, state-of-the-art football pitches: a 7-a-side, a 9-a-side, and a full-sized 11-a-side pitch.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to learn about the design and engineering process involved in revitalising sports facilities for local communities. They heard from ARC’s project managers and site engineers about the planning, eco-friendly construction methods, and the importance of creating accessible spaces for everyone to enjoy sport.
Students left inspired by how sustainable design and teamwork can turn neglected spaces into vibrant community assets. We are excited to see the progress as these new pitches come to life and proud that our students could witness first-hand how careers in STEM and sport can make a real difference.
