Yesterday our outstanding Year 9 sports leaders proudly represented The Lammas School as they helped organise and run the 2024 Adapted Inspire Festival East, hosted at the Tennis and Hockey Centre in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The event, part of the London Youth Games, is a multi-sports festival designed to engage young people with disabilities, along with their friends, in a variety of sports. It offers taster sessions in activities such as baseball, boccia, goalball, triathlon, football, and tennis, giving participants the chance to discover new sports and develop a love for physical activity.
Our students were instrumental in running several of the stations, including fencing, pistol shooting, hockey, and the crowd favourite, wheelchair basketball. Their enthusiasm, professionalism, and commitment did Lammas proud, with teachers, students, and London Youth Games organisers all praising their efforts.
The Adapted Inspire Festival also provides opportunities for young people to connect with local sports clubs and competitions, making it a key event in promoting inclusivity and physical activity. Our sports leaders had a fantastic day developing their leadership skills while contributing to such a positive and impactful event.
We are incredibly proud of our Year 9 students for their hard work and for being such excellent ambassadors for the school!
